Boone Climbing: The Local’s Perspective from Sam Dospoy

In his daily life, Sam is a Product Designer for Misty Mountain, which keeps him busy designing harnesses, packs, and other gear as well as doing product testing, machine repair, product photography, catalog design and countless other tasks that help Misty Mountain produce the finest climbing harnesses in the world.  Sam stays connected to climbing as he boulders around Boone, climbs trad at Hawksbill and cranks a sport route at The Dump.  The routes shown are Lost in Space (5.10) which Sam leads the second pitch after following his partner and fellow Misty Mountain employee James Leath on the first pitch.  The sport climb is Ride the Lightning (5.13a) at The Dump off Hwy 221 outside of Blowing Rock.  Sam blasts this in rocking style for the finale.
