Great harness and even better customer support!
Wow, so disappointed. This was my 3 rd harness. Was always my fav company. No more! Harness came with frayed material sloppy stitching. The back was off center by like 3-4 inches. Impossible to wear. Returned it. Dont know whats going on but you lost a committed customer. They said they knew they had this problem, then why send it to me.
The belt itself is super comfortable, before this I bought the same harness 3x in a row and decided to branch out since my trad climbs were getting longer and this was advertised as symmetrical and comfortable. No complaints about the belt itself but many complaints about the placement of the gear loops. I actually had a custom built harness and I think it was made wrong because the placement is so bad. I reach out to customer service and their response was "oh you must have gotten the wrong size, here's a 20% off coupon."
I sent an e-mail with pictures and measured parts of the belt where the loops were places showing how at every size within the range of that harness it would never be symmetrical. It would actually have to be pulled to a 23-inch waist to finally be symmetrical, which is an inch smaller than the size range advertised. I truly think the CUSTOM harness I bought was made with a defect.... waiting to see if customer service will provide a better solution and better product for the money I already spent, not just a discount code to purchase another harness. I have no reason to trust it would be any better.
Fit is good and quality is incredible. Feels light and comfortable to me. Can’t wait to use it outside - I’m especially excited to use the auto block loops. Tested them out with a few carabiners and didn’t encounter any problems (snug, but easy to get on).
This is my 2nd Sonic harness. I've also purchased multiple other models and quantities. I've bought these harnesses for my wife and kids as well. You just can't beat Misty Mountain. I use the Sonic for everything from gym climbing to basic single pitch at the crag, to multipitch trad. I've even used for bolting new routes - great to sit in for long periods of time. Super comfortable and holds gear well. A little more bulky in the backpack, but worth it! I've tried other brands and nothing works like a Misty!
